Relax and spend some time picking up some produce and other locally sourced goods. Show your support for local farmers this weekend.

If you’re in search of the home of your dreams and access to great farmers markets is important to you, you might want to plan your house hunting trips around farmers market days. Then, you can get a feel for the local flavor, tour homes in a nearby neighborhood or two, and go home with some great farm-fresh finds. In the event that you’re particularly drawn to the innovatively planned interiors and expertly crafted exteriors by Paran Homes, you should plan your next domicile daytrip around one or more of the following farmers markets near a number of our metro Atlanta communities.

Chestnut Farms

Heritage Pointe

(Lawrenceville/Gwinnett County): While there is not currently a traditional open-air farmers market near Heritage Pointe and its stunning collection of new homes in Lawrenceville – starting in the $270s, there is a Sprouts Farmers Market located at 1250 Scenic Highway in the Shoppes at Webb Gin, Nam Dae Mun Farmers Market located at 850 Dogwood Road  and a Super H Mart located at 2700 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road in nearby Suwanee. Instead of being seasonally based, these farmers markets offer regular hours throughout the year along with fresh produce, meat, seafood and more!

Kingsland

(Atlanta/Fulton County): Near one of our newest communities and its lovely new homes in College Park, the variety of farmers markets available to Kingsland residents is somewhat astounding. Fairburn Farmers Market – located at 15 SW Broad Street in Fairburn – is within 8 miles of the community and boasts live entertainment along with fresh fruits and veggies, honey, spices, organic meats, farm fresh eggs, goat milk, homemade pastries, and homemade jams. It’s open to the public every Friday from May 31 through August 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. Also within a 17-mile drive of the community are the Georgia Grown Welcome Center/Atlanta State Farmers Market (offering an astounding 150 acres of local farm products) and East Point Farmers Market and Food Truck Court – just for starters.

Magnolia Court

(Marietta/Cobb County): With 2018 marking Marietta Square Farmers Market’s best year to date, Magnolia Court residents can bank on this year being even bigger and better. Featuring an average of 65 vendors each week, this weekly market (twice-weekly seasonally) boasts everything from fruits and veggies to local honey and herbal soaps. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is open on Saturdays year-round from 9 a.m. to noon and on Sundays (May-October) noon to 3 p.m.

Established in 1834, this farmers market is just one of MANY exciting draws to this area – which is resplendent with history, unique boutiques, award-winning eateries, family-friendly events and so much more. Seaboard Junction

(Loganville/Gwinnett County): Want to know what’s just as awesome as a farmers market? A working farm within two miles of your front door! Residents of Seaboard Junction are right up the road from Washington Farms, a family-owned and operated farm that offers strawberry picking from mid-April through mid-June. It’s open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday but check their website for picking conditions before you go. For year-round shopping, there’s also a Sprouts Farmers Market within 6 miles of the community at 1250 Scenic Hwy in the Shoppes at Webb Gin in Lawrenceville. Featuring new homes in Loganville priced from the high $200s, Seaboard Junction is now open to pre-sales.

Sweetwater Landing

(Powder Springs/Cobb County): Showcasing beautiful new homes in Powder Springs priced from the high $200s, Sweetwater Landing also offers its residents access to a farmers market within 7 miles of the community. Austell International Farmers Market – located at 3565 Austell Road – is open year-round and housed indoors. It specializes in authentic, regional, fresh, and seasonal produce sold by farmers and makers direct to consumers at a central location. It also features international goods, seafood and more!

The Lakes of Franklin Goldmine

(Cumming/Forsyth County): In addition to family-friendly amenities and gorgeous new homes in Cumming priced from the mid $300s, The Lakes of Franklin Goldmine also offers its residents close proximity to the Cumming Farmers Market, located in the parking lot of the Cumming Fairgrounds at 235 Castleberry Road. The Cumming Farmers Market features fresh vegetables, sausage, pork, beef, handmade soap, crafts, bread, pies, boiled peanuts, and other items. Typically open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings throughout the summer. At the time of this article’s publication, the Cumming Farmers Market had not yet published Summer 2019 hours. Traditions of Braselton

(Jefferson/Jackson County): Poised between the Main Street Charm of both historic Braselton and downtown Jefferson, Traditions of Braselton residents get to benefit from not just one but TWO farmers markets nearby. Hosted at 9924 Davis Street on the backside of the iconic Braselton Bros Department Store, the Braselton Farmers Market is held every Friday in June, July and the first 3 weeks of August, and on the 3rd Friday September through November from 4-7 p.m. Additional months may be added (weather permitting).

Jefferson Farmers Market is hosted on the Jefferson Square and is typically held every Saturday 8am-12pm, June through September. At the time of publication, the 2019 schedule had not yet been released, so check back with their website.
