How to Make an Empty Nest Feel Full of Life

With the recent debut of Seaboard Junction in Loganville and the upcoming premiere of Gladstone Landing in Snellville, Paran Homes is finding a great reception to its age-restricted communities by Atlanta’s active adult homebuyers. Since the move to a new 55+ community often marks a transition to empty nest-hood, you may want to feather your new nest a little differently than your previous homes. Paran Homes is happy to provide you with a few tips to making your new empty nest feel FULL…

Surround Yourself with Loved Ones

One of the best ways to keep those you love close is by surrounding yourself with photos of their happy, smiling faces. Choose a color theme and stick to it regarding frames, only occasionally mixing in a little metal that coincides with your fixtures and handles – such as a brushed nickel, burnt umber or copper to change things up. If black plays a prominent role in your color story, consider using black frames to highlight several of your favorite photos – then feature them in a collage on a wall or two. Elect to go with all color or black and white in each collection. You can also use standing frames for bookcases and tabletops. Be careful not to overdo it, you don’t want your space to appear cluttered. Clean lines are all the rage these days and fewer frames means less to dust and more time for FUN!

Find Meaning in Mementos

Another way to fill your home with happy memories from your family’s journey is by creating shadow boxes that feature special mementos that hold meaning. Real Simple offers several suggestions for designing beautiful eye-catching shadow boxes that you can cherish for years to come. If your daughter or son played a sport or dance, you could have their jersey or favorite costume quilted onto a backdrop and framed – a great addition to a game room, media space or kids’ room for when the grandkids come to visit.

Choose Happy Colors

Whether for an accent wall or pops of color in your throw pillows and décor, be sure to use happy colors to make your home feel vibrant and full of life. VeryWellMind.com describes this as a modern take on the ancient practice of Chromotherapy and suggests that warm colors like yellow, red and orange are likely the happiest of colors. Although Pink is associated with romance and kindness, purple with wealth and wisdom, white with purity and innocence, green with nature and good fortune, and brown with reliability and strength. When black is used as an accent – particularly in a Feng Shui kind of way to harmonize your home – use it sparingly to have a grounding effect on your environment. It represents power. Blue, on the other hand, is thought to have a calming effect – depending on the shade used.

Incorporate Music to Your Smart Home

If you opt to add the convenience of Smart Home elements to your new home, be sure that music is incorporated somehow. If you have a central system that wirelessly pipes out tunes to various rooms of your home through a series of speakers, you can fill your home with your favorite music. From Mozart to Maroon 5 – and everything in between. According to BeBrainFit.com, “music activates every known part of the brain. Listening to and playing music can make you smarter, happier, healthier and more productive at all stages of life.”

Cozy Up with Comfy Furniture

Although you are an ACTIVE ADULT, you may want to occasionally turn on the boob tube and binge watch your favorite shows. It’s important to have cozy furniture for that reason, but also because inviting overstuffed furniture can help fill a space beautifully without making it feel cluttered. It’s a more practical solution than austere furniture you purchase only for appearance sake. You’ll also want your furniture to rank high on the cozy factor for those grandkid sleepover snuggle fests in front of the fireplace. S’mores anyone?

Create Dedicated Spaces for Future Visits

While your Master Suite, Kitchen and Family Room may be all about you, you can create dedicated spaces for the people you hope to welcome regularly to your home. If you have grandkids, a bedroom themed just for them is sure to encourage regular visits. You might consider built-in bunkbeds to maximize the space in their room. Theme your adult children’s rooms similarly – maybe a slight suggestion of their room growing up or an homage to a favorite shared pastime like camping or visits to the beach. The same holds true for life-long friends when they come to call for an overnight stay. The point is to create a space that FEELS like it’s all their own – a place they look forward to visiting time and again.

Paran Homes Premieres Two New Model Homes at Newest Active Adult Community

Regional Builder Ramped Up Sales at Gwinnett County 55+ Community with Recent Grand Opening of Seaboard Junction in Loganville

Roswell, Ga, October 1, 2019 – Metro Atlanta-based regional homebuilder, Paran Homes, has witnessed a positive reaction from Gwinnett County home buyers since the Spring 2019 pre-sale opening of its newest active adult community in Loganville – Seaboard Junction. Now that a portion of the 112 low-maintenance villas in the gated 55+ hamlet have been completed, Paran is delighted to premiere two professionally merchandised model homes – which are now open to the public. First debuted at a very successful Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on September 17, the model homes received highly favorable feedback from guests. To add to the excitement of tours of the model homes and move-in ready homes at Seaboard Junction, Paran Homes is extending a $7,500 Any Way You Want It on select home sites OR $5000 in Design Options for presales for a limited time.*

“We were thrilled with the turnout at Seaboard Junction’s recent Grand Opening – many of the nearly 50 attendees were interested active adult buyers,” said Michael Rosenberg, President of Paran Homes. “We were also grateful to have the Gwinnett Chamber there to support the official Ribbon Cutting. Paran Homes has a terrific history with our 55+ product, as witnessed at Villas at Park Place in the City of Stone Mountain. The winning combination seems to lie within the pairing of beautifully crafted, lifestyle-focused floor plans with exciting, lifestyle-centric locations. That is certainly the case with Seaboard Junction. We’ve combined affordable, thoughtfully designed villas that are ideal for entertaining with the strategic placement of the community in an area that is rich with shops, restaurants, recreational destinations and alluring community events. From spending the afternoon at a great fall festival hosted by the City of Loganville or nearby Cities of Snellville and Grayson to ending the day shopping and dining at the Shoppes of Webb Gin, this is a terrific area for active adults and families alike. Add to that superb on-site amenities and a number of award-winning Gwinnett County parks nearby, and we make it easy for our active adult residents to STAY active.”

Priced from the High $200s, homes at Seaboard Junction feature three of Paran Homes’ most popular quad-style floor plans – The Augusta, The Veranda and The Savannah. All three plans boast 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2-car garage and 1700+ square feet of one-story living space. Open-concept designs are ideal for couples who love to entertain and walk-up storage above the garage in all three plans has proven a popular feature. Amenities include a pool, clubhouse for community gatherings and loads of greenspace. Nearby, Bay Creek, Tribble Mill and Harbins Parks offer features like a lighted tennis complex, stocked lake for fishing, large network of trails for hiking and horseback riding, and all the other qualities that make a park truly great.

To design one of its model homes – featuring The Savannah floor plan, Paran Homes enlisted the aid of Suwanee-based Haven Design Works, led by Donna Mathis and Lisa Giles. “Our design was inspired by the suburban surroundings, as well as the needs and lifestyle of an active adult buyer,” said Giles. “The overall styling is a rustic modern, combining modern elements, clean lines and layered textures which makes the space feel fresh and new but also very comfortable and welcoming… like you could cozy up on the sofa with a glass of wine. We chose a vibrant color palette of rusts and goldenrod with pops of black for bold contrast. Adding this bold color palette contrasts some of the rustic wood tones and natural textures to really make this space come alive. We always wish people walk out of one of our designed spaces feeling like it was an experience and feeling inspired. We hope it allows buyers to envision themselves living in the space and seeing the value in the property by highlighting the home’s best features.”

The second model home – showcasing The Augusta floor plan – was designed by Joy Kirkland of Innovative Interiors. Kirkland employed the use of bold pops of blue and orange to lend a sense of vibrancy to living spaces. Pale walls and white cabinets are offset by dark hardwood floors. The open concept at the heart of the home creates the feeling of one unified space – making it an ideal floor plan for couples who love to host gatherings. Kirkland extends the living spaces outdoors with her inviting design of the covered porch – where one can imagine countless mornings drinking a cup of coffee and endless evenings delighting in some fresh air while enjoying a nightcap with friends and loved ones.

As a builder that seeks out some of the best hometowns in the Southeast in which to develop its neighborhoods, Paran wishes to honor a number of very distinguished members of these communities with its newly minted Hometown Hero program. What that means is that when a Hometown Hero purchases a Paran Home, the builder will pay $2,500 towards their closing costs.
